Wednesday The 23rd Night Edition
On Wednesday night we had a sleepover at the hall. For me it was unbearable. I hardly got any sleep and I woke up tired.
When I got to school that night we all started having a snack. But all the snacks were chocolate something and I don’t like chocolate. Then we went to play a game of spot light but people were on the field when we weren’t supposed to go on their so we all had to go back inside then we watched a movie called flubber which I didn’t really enjoy then lights out.
I hardly got any sleep that night. My tooth was throbbing, there was snoring and I hardly had any space on my bed.
After that night we all had to wake at seven and do fitness. I was so tired so I didn’t do very well. Then we went inside to make breakfast and lunch. We played a bit then It was time to go to the pools.

Wednesday The 23rd: Te Papa And Nga Taonga Sound And Vision
The third day of E.O.T.C was at Te Papa and sound and vision,
First we went to Te Papa and we looked at some bug information. We also looked at some Māori musical instruments. Then we saw a presentation in one of the exhibitions about the porirua Māori tribe Ngati toa and a chief called Te Rauparaha.
Then we went to Nga Taonga to see a video about early Porirua and early Wellington it was very interesting learning how the land changed through earthquakes and building being made. We also learnt about tapes and we saw some tv ads from the olden days.
Tuesday The 22nd: Survival Day
On survival we did rotations of activities that related to natural disasters.
The first activity I did was with Mrs Holland and we had to make cubes with an activity on each side. It could be an exercise or anything that could be done inside.
The second activity was with Miss Hills finding out about what is most important to what is the least important things to have in order to survive in space.
The third activity was with Mrs Breuss-McBride using stepping stones to get across the hall pretending the ground was lava.
The third activity was with Ms Kyle and we were making a poster about what we need to survive in a disaster like canned food, torch, radio, water, matches, sleeping bag and dry clothes.
The fourth and last activity was with Whaea Bex we learnt the r.i.c.e. explanation how R is for rest, I is for ice, C is for compression and E is for elevation. We also learnt how to tie slings for broken arms and how to apply bandages on bleeding.
Then it was end of day.
Monday The 21st: Aotea Lagoon
It was the first day of E.O.T.C week and we spent the day at Aotea lagoon.
We all walked down. On the way Lennox and I talked about the All Blacks vs Ireland game in Dublin this weekend and how the All Blacks could improve. It was really hot walking down, I’m glad I had a water bottle.
When we got there it was morning tea time we ate and then went off to play. I played some touch rugby with Lennox and played on the Octopus, I was just doing those two activities all day long.
On the way back up I pretty much talked about the same thing on the walk down, the All Blacks match. When we got back to school it was home time sowe all went home.

Early Māori
Yesterday we had Whaea Toni in class. We were finding out about the technology of the early Māori. First we talked about what technology is, it is something that meets a need or problem, an invention by design, has innovation and can be adapted.

Then we started to look at early Māori technology. We looked at some different categories, tools, weapons, whāre, fire, waka. and Then we looked at some of the materials that the early Māori used including, harakeke, toe toe, raupo, sticks, stones or rocks, wood, leather and animal bones.
After that she told us to think of a technology that the early Māori used and then she sent us to our desks and told us to draw your chosen technology and label it with what you think it is made out of. After that we sat on the mat and learnt about all the technologies of early Māori, how they made them and what they made them with.
Soon after that we had to do some paper weaving to get an idea of how early Māori made a lot of their technologies. We chose a coloured piece of card and folded it horizontally. We drew a line about two centimetres from the to the cut lines to that line. We opened up the piece of paper and got strips of paper and did the under over motion through the paper alternating you starting position every time from under to over and over to under.

My Art The Olympian

Last term the class all made Olympic art. We all chose an Olympic sport and found a silhouette of someone doing that sport. We put it on an A3 piece of paper. Then we took it of and drew black lines coming out of where the silhouette will soon be. We coloured in with chosen colours and stuck black and white magazine words around the outside to make a boarder. And then we were finished! This is my Olympic art.

Travelling Through The Solar System’s Dangers
This is my space slide. It shows about the dangers of the solar system. I chose this topic
because I want to make a prediction on how life will end on earth. I reckon when the sun gets so small that heat can’t reach us life on earth will die out.( Don’t be scared it will probably be in a couple of billion years) Click on link below to view.
